What's new in Deck Builder 3.8.2

Deck Builder 3.8.2 is a small update on Android and a big one in the browser. On the phone, decks finally get sort controls and a cover image that behaves. In the browser, the play screen was rebuilt, the web app became installable, and physical decks can be photographed straight in.

Sort your decks

The deck overview now sorts. Open search from the menu and pick a order: newest, last updated, or alphabetical, and tap the selected option again to flip between ascending and descending. The sort sticks while you search, so a long deck list stays manageable.

Deck covers behave again

The cover image on a deck’s details screen was rendered at whatever size the underlying picture happened to be, which on some decks meant one enormous image pushing everything else off screen. It is now constrained to the size the screen was designed for.

In the browser

The web app picked up the largest batch of changes since it launched:

  • A redesigned play screen: the draw pile stands as the centrepiece, the discard pile sits beside it as a card grid, and the whole thing carries the Android app’s motion design.
  • Install the web app: add it to your home screen or install it from the browser menu, use it offline, and double-click a deck file to open it straight in.
  • Photograph a physical deck: no scanner needed, the camera turns cards into a digital deck.
  • Tarot reversals: deal a tarot deck with reversed cards, like the phone always has.
  • Tokens and mid-game keywords: make a token without it joining the deck, mark a card used, and see a card’s rules keywords in the middle of a game, searchable in the deck’s own search.
  • Proactive Pro offer: the web app now shows Pro at the moments where it earns its keep.
  • Plus: share-sheet exports for every format, collection covers, deck and card changelogs, AI prompt display, and background artist credits.

Getting the update

The Android update is rolling out to testers now and reaches everyone through Google Play. The browser version updates itself: open app.deckbuilderapp.app and you are already on the newest build.

If anything here does not behave, the Discord is the fastest way to reach me.
